Draw before you cut

A beautiful slab is only the beginning. A thoughtful fabrication layout treats each visible face as part of one composition. Ask your fabricator to show how the chosen material will be positioned, especially around corners and prominent edges.

Let a seam be deliberate

Discuss where joints will sit and what they will look like. Veins can meet, turn or change direction; the important thing is to decide intentionally. A digital layout or an in-person review of marked slabs makes the conversation much clearer than a small sample.

Make room for the practical

Before fabrication, agree on the sink, appliance information, edge treatment and finished dimensions. Support and installation details belong to a qualified professional working with the specific material and project. Good craft combines the beautiful decisions with the ones you may never see.

Make the review tangible

A marked photograph of the actual slabs makes it easier to discuss where a vein will end and where a joint will begin. Ask which faces are visible, including the underside of overhangs and the ends of a backsplash. Small surfaces still belong to the composition.

Keep a record of the decisions

Keep the approved layout, edge sample, finish and scope together. When a change is proposed, ask what it affects: material yield, appearance, schedule or fitting. A clear conversation lets the craft show in the finished space.
